Tomorrow is the first day of October, and here at Bob-net, that means it’s the beginning of 31 Days of Halloween! Look for daily posts of pictures, music, videos, Halloween-themed Whatevers — all starting tomorrow!

Hey kids. Just wanted to let you know the Donkey Show moved over here, to a site of its own!

I’m in. First new post coming in minutes.

I had hoped for that last post to stand poignantly as the last post evar at Bob-net. But we probably all knew that wasn’t going to happen. So here’s the deal. I’m using Twitter now. It’s microblogging. A simple, easy way to let your friends know what you’re up to — and find out what your friends are up to if they use it. So I’ll be doing my thing there and should there ever be an occasional post here, Twitter users will be the first to know.

If you want to see what I’m doing, just check out And if you sign up, tell me!

“Oh Pooh, if ever there was a tomorrow when we are not together, remember you are braver than you believe and stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is even if we are apart I will always be with you. I will always be with you.”

I really can’t think of a more fitting analogy.

For years, Bob-net has succeeded at filling voids in my life — mainly the one created by a mindless job that involved countless hours in front of a computer with little to do. I simply don’t have that situation anymore, and while that sounds like a regret, I couldn’t be happier that my life is so full. I have a fulfilling and rewarding job, an entertaining and rapscallying child, a loving and life-affirming wife, and the best group of friends anyone could hope to have.

At this point, I can’t wedge Bob-net in without squeezing something out. And I don’t want to do that.

I’ll remember fondly the games we played and the adventures we had. Thank you, Bob-net. I can only hope my son gets to experience a silly bear like you someday.

Thanks for everything, gang.

Really, WordPress? It’s 2008. We should be able to do this.

It’s been a busy several weeks, but now that I’m getting more comfortable in my new job, I think I’m going to have time to give this place a little attention.

I don’t know that we’ll see continued weekly features, but it certainly won’t be a ghost town around here.

Expect the sign to be flipped from “Sorry, we’re closed” to “Yes, we are open” on 4/21. We’ve got a lot of catching up to do.
